The Porch House
The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire
Overview
The Porch House is a stylish boutique retreat with restaurant and inn. Claiming to be 'England's oldest inn', The Porch House occupies a handsome, Grade II listed, Cotswold stone building; parts of which date back to 947AD, yet exudes a vintage country cool vibe following an extensive and sensitive restoration of its historical, architectural and decorative references. The 50 seat dining room exudes an easy, modern style with an architecturally splendid setting. Ancient exposed oak beams, oak timber flooring and honey coloured stonewalls complement two working fireplaces with incised symbols in its stone surround said to offer protection against witches and evil spirits. Expect a regularly changing, seasonal menu showcasing flavourful, rustic British dishes.
