Woolley Grange Hotel Restaurant
Bishopstrow House
Warminster, Wiltshire
Overview
Bishopstrow is where dapper country house hotel meets hospitality with imagination, charm and spirit, surrounded by private gardens and set in glorious, rural Wiltshire. Georgian through and through, with a long, meandering driveway that delivers you to the large front door, they have ensured to keep all unique period features and charm. Features that sympathetically combine many contemporary details that run throughout.
The Hotel is a favourite amongst locals, a honey-stoned, much-loved venue for family get-togethers, romantic rendezvous and sumptuous stays. The house and grounds of this beautiful Georgian manor boast a history dating right back to the Domesday book in 1086, when it was held by Edward of Salisbury, and is believed to be named after “Bishop’s Tree”, the place where St Aldhelm’s staff grew into an Ash tree.
The restaurant presents the best of Wiltshire’s larder with all ingredients local and super fresh. The menu is chock full of dishes ranging from contemporary to classic but ensures that the focus is always on substance over style and the food is hale and hearty. Executive Chef, Philip Lewis and Head Chef, Jon Los, and his team emboldens traditional flavours of guinea fowl, venison and wild vegetables – all of which most certainly will have been on the table of the hotel’s predecessors during lavish feasts.
One of Wiltshire most enjoyable dining experiences, the restaurant offers ample, contemporary dining space, complemented by glorious views overlooking the terrace, conservatory and lawns.
Not to be missed is the famous Sunday roast with all the trimmings.. Crisp potatoes, cauli-cheese & of course, the gravy. Roasts by Bishostrow – every Sunday.
