In an ode to the bustling izakayas of Japan – bars that serve a variety of small plates and interesting sakes, The Aubrey brings a new Japanese dining experience to Knightsbridge. 

The Aubrey in the iconic Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is described as ‘an eccentric Izakaya’ – everything from its distinctive bars; food menu drawing on the classical dishes of edomae sushi, tempura and robata and walls layered with art inspired by the Japonisme movement and in particular British artist and illustrator Aubrey Beardsley, whose name inspired the venue - has created a rarefied parallel to the British dining experience.   

A Knightsbridge neighbourhood vibe, this izakaya is a welcoming and immersive experience. A labyrinth of velvet, marble and wood, with back-to-back pieces of art, set the scene for two bars, intimate corners, and rooms to be discovered for a home-away-from-home. With a focus on outstanding cocktails, sake with varieties come from emerging breweries as well as rare and unusual releases, such as Masumi – a sparkling Sake – and Sohomare. The space features London’s first omakase cocktail bar, to enjoy expert creations, and an extensive collection of rare spirits.

Since opening The Aubrey has cemented itself as a stylish evening destination – and more recently the fun can also be enjoyed for weekend brunch time too.
