sketch - The Lecture Room & Library
Mayfair, London - West End
Overview
Opened in 2002 as a collaboration between the culinary legend Pierre Gagnaire and restaurateur Mourad Mazouz, sketch has firmly established itself as not only one of London's finest restaurants (The Lecture Room & Library was awarded a third Michelin star in 2020 and has held a Michelin star every year consecutively since 2005 - with two Michelin stars held from 2013 to 2019), but moreover, a destination for food, drink, music and art. From the street, the unsuspecting Victorian London townhouse (formerly the head office of Dior) masks the secret interior where every single inch has been transformed into a decadent wonderland of opulence, even down to the toilets which are so popular they have their own Instagram #!
Located on the first floor, The Lecture Room & Library is the showstopper of this multi-room visual spectaular. Entered through a grand doorway, the dining room is awash with rich jewel-like colours, ceiling to floor mirrors and lavish furnishings. It offers the perfect environment to be totally swept away by Pierre Gagnaire's gastronomic creations.
Awarded Best Chef in the World in 2015, Pierre Gagnaire was at the forefront of fusion cuisine contrasting against the conventions of classic French cooking to create dishes with juxtaposed flavours, textures and ingredients which are visible in his dishes to this day.
Membership benefits are also available in the Gallery restaurant and for Afternoon Tea in the Gallery.
