Ikoyi
Temple, London - City
Overview
Ikoyi takes you on a culinary odyssey of West African flavours, cleverly using key West African as well as British ingredients and transforming them to create unique dishes. Truly an original with its intricate creations and modern interpretation of West African ingredients, influences and cooking - it has given rise to a new kind of cuisine which is applicable to a wider, more global audience.
Having outgrown its original premises in St James's Market it then moved to The Strand in November 2022. As the next step in the restaurants exciting evolution, the larger space has afforded co-founders, Jeremy Chan and Iré Hassan-Odukale, even more freedoms with the large open kitchen the creative engine room.
The restaurant and open kitchen also offers an outdoor terrace and private dining room styled by acclaimed Danish architect and designer David Thulstrup to create a cohesive union of all four spaces. Enjoying the Scandinavian values of simplicity and humility with a dash of boldness, the minimalist interior has a subtle warmth with plenty of industrial textures. Copper painted walls, stone slab flooring and woven mesh draped across the ceiling all play with the natural light throughout the day creating and ever changing backdrop.
