Cora
Pontcanna, Cardiff
Overview
Following on from the runaway success of the 40 Days and 40 Nights popup restaurant collaboration with Milkwood, the former Head Chef at Hedone, London and protégé of both Marcus Wareing and Gordon Ramsay, Lee Skeet has opened his first permanent restaurant, Cora, in Cardiff.
Situated above the renowned Milkwood, Cora, named after his four year old daughter, will buck conventional restaurant trends and open from Monday to Friday, serving a set tasting menu of seasonal British produce to just twelve guests each service. Familiar qualities from previous projects will remain, such as the laid back dining room, hip hop led soundtrack and an emphasis on seafood. However now having a permanent site, Skeet aims to double down on the progression and refinement of his food, front of house service and wine offering, with the intention of becoming known as Cardiff's best restaurant.
The tasting menu will be priced at £78 and will usually consist of canape followed by six courses, and additional courses like otoro bluefin tuna sashimi and Cornish oysters will be available for each table subject to daily availability.
