Luxury Hotels With Their Own Pets and Animals
Competition is fierce amongst our finest country house hotels to provide the best possible guest experience. In recent blogs we have showcased hotels with launches, equestrian facilities and cookery schools. Now we visit some spectacular venues that have their own pets or animals which guests are invited to spend time with and delight in!
Four Seasons Hampshire – Sir Oliver Beckington
A real favourite of ours, Sir Oliver Beckington is FS Hampshire’s very own resident black labrador – and what a heart melter he is. Hampshire puppy born and bred, Oliver Beckington, represents Four Seasons continual commitment to being a dog-friendly destination. Lovingly named after two bishops who once resided on the Dogmersfield Estate, Oliver Beckington is already an integral part of Hampshire life.

Stapleford Park, Melton Mowbray – Merlin the Eagle
With the Stapleford School of Falconry you can experience the thrill of handling majestic birds of prey under the expert guidance of a personal falconer. And the skies at Stapleford are getting ever wilder with the most recent addition, Merlin, the Golden Eagle. Falconer Pete Sibson says, “I’ll never forget his first day at Stapleford. Gravetye Manor, Sussex – Chickens and Swans
Glorious Gravetye and its magnificent gardens have many surprises in store for you, no matter what time of year you visit. It’s most famous owner was landscape gardener William Robinson, dedicated promoter of the concept of the English country garden. What could be more quintessential than collecting your own hen eggs for breakfast? Or a stroll through the wildflower meadow before dinner to witness the splendor of the swans in the Upper Lake?

Lainston House, Winchester – Eric the Owl
Another favourite of ours, this unbelievably cute little chap took up residence within Lainston’s burgeoning falconry earlier this year and is winning fans all over Hampshire! Eric is in great company with Ace the Falcon and Kevin the stunning Turkey Vulture. However, as we are a little in love with Eric we are only using images of him so you’ll have to visit new Falconer, Judy at Lainston, to see his friends!
