We have been so busy this month scouring the country and adding some fabulous new restaurants for members to enjoy fantastic benefits in. From tucked away Japanese gems to traditional Country Pubs – Design Restaurants has it covered!
1. Q Grill, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1
Q-Grill rides a wave of Southern soul food and draws influences from differing barbeque styles around the globe. It takes pride in serving a menu of the highest quality produce, smoked, grilled or from the raw counter to discerning Londoners. Alongside all the soul food though, care has been taken to include some raw dishes, such as seabass ceviche. The design is an emphatic metropolitan take on a rural American roadhouse, with lots of neon signage, exposed beams, industrial lighting and timber everywhere. The music is loud, the lighting dim and the north London clientele all up for it.
Club Offer: Members receive a 10% reduction from the total bill when dining from the a la carte menu for lunch Monday to Friday and Dinner Sunday to Wednesday. For details click here.
2. The Fish and Chip Shop, Islington, London
The Fish & Chip Shop, by Des McDonald, is a posh modern day neighbourhood fish & chip shop. In addition to perfect cod & chips expect to order sea bass a la plancha, shrimp burgers & old fashioned fish finger butties. Where possible ingredients are sourced from MSC approved fisheries or other fisheries that we are satisfied are best practice and the most sustainable. A fully stocked bar features a weekday happy hour, craft beers from London and a carefully selected wine list.
Club Offer: Members receive a 10% reduction from the total bill when dining from the a la carte menu for Lunch Monday to Friday and Dinner Sunday to Wednesday. For more details click here.
3. Terrace at The Montagu Arms, New Forest, Hampshire
This Michelin starred restaurant offers fine dining at its best, with a delectable menu designed to capture a delicious and exciting range of flavours, textures and aromas to excite your tastebuds. Situated in The Montagu Arms Hotel, a charming 17th Century house on the Beaulieu estate deep in the New Forest. Located in an area which supplies so much good game and other fine dining staples (even the port is locally sourced), the emphasis here is on familiar combinations of flavours, done extremely well. The atmosphere is both elaborately opulent and comforting in a country house chic way – embroidered fabrics, dark wood paneling, mirrors, and a spectacular terrace dining area.
Club Offer: Members receive a 15% reduction from the total bill when dining for Lunch Wednesday to Saturday and Dinner Tuesday to Friday. For more details click here.
4. Typing Room, Patriot Square, London E2
London’s Town Hall Hotel seems to be the place for great restaurants. First came Viajante which is now replaced with The Typing Room, named after the building’s original typing room in which all communications from the mayoral, council and judicial system were put to ink. Lee Westcott’s creative menu of modern European cuisine consists of five snacks, five starters and five mains, all made with local and seasonal British produce, with a six-course tasting menu is also available. Pure, natural and honest cooking, presented in a relaxed atmosphere. The setting is quietly stylish with teal walls, muted greys, touches of elegant white marble and pale wood furnishings and an open kitchen.
Club Offer: Members and guest receive one small additional seasonal middle course when dining for lunch Wednesday to Sunday. For more details click here.
5. The Black Sheep, Weston-On-The-Green, Oxfordshire
The Black Sheep Weston is a beautifully kept traditional pub located in the Oxfordshire countryside. With thatched roof and limestone walls, The Black Sheep is typical of the kind of building often found in the typically English villages which surround the area. The pub is located just beside the Cotswolds, so the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal or drink when exploring the host of things to do in the area. There is a sun patio to the front and a stunning, mature garden to the rear with plenty of seating to enjoy your refreshments al fresco when the weather is fine. The pub has a large dining area inside and a lounge bar with roaring fires in the winter – perfect for cosy nights with friends. This is the sister property to luxury country house hotel The Manor at Weston-on-the-Green.
Club Offer: Members and their guests receive a complimentary glass of Nyetimber when dining for Lunch Monday to Friday. For more details click here.
The modern interiors of these Japanese restaurants contrast pleasingly with their traditional heart. The chefs present exquisite sushi and sashimi and the sourcing is impeccable. The Chisou motif is one of beauty mixed with bounty and its pleasures are to be found in Chiswick, Knightsbridge and Mayfair. Each location has its own character, but they all serve Japanese food the way the Japanese like to eat it –a variety of dishes, cooked in different ways, celebrating fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Chisou Chiswick is tucked away on a secluded street, reminiscent of the narrow restaurant lined passageways of Kyoto. For more details click here.
Chisou Mayfair, buzzing in one of the hottest spots in town, stocks the finest of sake, including bottles even unusual in Japan. For more details click here.
Chisou Knightsbridge is tucked away behind Harrods and offers a delicious mix of cosy booths and exclusive dining room. For more details click here.
Club Offer: Members and up to two additional guests receive a complimentary glass of Nyetimber when dining for lunch and dinner all week.
