1. ‘Street Food of India’ Cookery Course at Lucknam ParkNorth-Indian-Street-Food

Why? Because we are going to do it on Friday and we are really rather excited! The course is a one day experience where we will explore the regional varieties of the Indian street food such as  Aloo Tikki, Sindhi style samosas, pav bhaji, puri and puffed rice based street food. We’ll will learn the skill of ‘marination’ for kebabs and their derivatives. Then we get to eat it! Designed as an introduction to this incredible cuisine it will also be a journey that is certain to ‘broaden your knowledge and experience of spice and guide you in sourcing the ingredients necessary to create authentic Indian Street Food.’ Only three more sleeps!!

2. Yoosliyoosli

Love muesli but wish that you could create your own mix with only ingredients that you like? Now you can! Yoosli is an innovative online brand that allows you to create your perfect breakfast from their array of bases and toppings.

From spelt flakes to chocolate chips, you can be as saintly or as sinful as you like – just take your pick from the flavours available. The bonus is that many of the grains are gluten and wheat free, so it’s ideal for anyone with allergies and intolerances who may struggle to find commercial cereals that they can eat. They also do a 5 a day box breakfast subscription for just £3.49 a week – yum! If the lovely people at Yoosli HQ would like to send us some samples we’d be very grateful… www.yoosli.com

3.Silver by Aston Martinaston martin hamper

That DB9 may just be out of reach still but you can still own an iconic piece of Aston Martin courtesy of silversmiths Grant Macdonald. Gracing the silver room on the second floor of Harrods, you can now have some Aston Martin action on your dining table or sideboard. The collection of flutes, shakers, pens and tumblers are sleek, sexy and elegant – infact pure James Bond!  There is even a hamper featuring sterling silver and 100% Scottish lambswool, with English fine bone china and Irish damask linen  – egg and cress sandwiches will never taste so good. The cost however may cause them to stick in your throat slightly, at £16,800 for the hamper. That’s a bargain compared to the set of 12 sterling silver flutes, lined with 24 carat gold, and each stem patterned with an intricate crosshatching detail to echo carbon-fibre, inspired by the One-77 chassis, all displayed in a hand-finished walnut veneered presentation case. And, er, £26,600. http://www.grantmacdonald.com Again, samples welcome…?!

5. Harry Rosenharry rosen

Meet Harry Rosen, the 103-year-old widower who spends $100 a night dining alone at New York City’s top-rated restaurants. This purveyor of fine dining only orders fish, considers his meals therapeutic and attributes his longevity to eating out in a fine dining restaurant EVERY night!

“The food and the ambience, it’s my therapy — it gives me energy,” he tells the New York Times.

Rosen hasn’t eaten a home-cooked meal since his wife Lillian passed away five years ago, when she was 95. “I’m still open to meeting someone,” he says. “I still have the desire. That’s what counts.” We love you Harry! (but we don’t need a sample).
