Chinese New Year – Fortune Cookie saying ‘Dine out to usher in prosperity’

Chinese New Year officially begins with the second new moon after the winter solstice, so the Year of the Rabbit starts on 3rd February.  There are 12 different animals on the Chinese zodiac marking each new year.  The rabbit marks a period of tranquillity, balance and calm.  It enthuses time to focus on relationships and to undertake family activities which we heartily interpreted as dining out more regularly with your loved ones.  The New Year is a fifteen day celebration with food an essential part of the festivities, and is chosen especially to help usher in prosperity.  Expect plenty of filled dumplings, lovingly prepared to symbolise packages of good fortune, and multiple mandarin oranges are devoured to bring luck.  Design Restaurant worthy gourmet suggestions are:
