A busy but excellent year, in fact 2010 was probably the best year Designrestaurants.com has ever had with an incredible upsurge in demand from customers and for inclusions by notable restaurants.
Over 90 new restaurant inclusions, 44% increase on web bookings, a 10.2% increase in affiliate members and a 17% increase in subscribers to our club section offering preferential benefits and rates for discerning foodies. In terms of balancing quantity and quality for our club section in particular its likely we now have the best overall line up for luxury restaurant offers.
But, what next? Third party sites are falling over themselves to offer higher reductions, however with the majority focused on casual dining restaurants the fine dining and destination restaurants are making concerted efforts to differentiate their brands from marketing purely on discounting to the masses and ensuring quality and services wins out. The economic situation looks set to remain volatile for the restaurant industry with the impact of the VAT rises and consumer confidence expected to be weakened especially in the first quarter by tempering spend, higher inflation and modest wage increases.
For Design Restaurants our outlook is carefully defined and driven by an excellent and dedicated team of professionals. Further investment in enhancing the site’s usage and awareness to consumer and trade will be made. Notable areas will be in the customer log in areas, search upgrades, developing markets in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, service recognition in restaurants, and increased affiliations and brand tie-ins.
