The Full List of Michelin Restaurants for Great Britain & Ireland 2019
The Michelin Guide held its bi-annual award ceremony on Monday 01st October 2018 to announce the very latest restaurants to attain a coveted one, two and three Michelin star status for its 2019 guide.
In total in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain & Ireland 2019 there are now 180 Michelin restaurants in the UK and Ireland, an overall increase of 6 on the previous publication. At the ceremony, 21 new one stars and 3 new two stars were announced, but no new three stars. There were star losses too, although these were not announced at the ceremony: there were 2 deleted two star status and 13 restaurants with one star that subsequently have now lost this, many due to closures or chefs that have changed properties.
Ratings are received after anonymous inspectors dine and who pay their own bills to ensure impartiality:
- One star: “A very good restaurant in its category”
- Two star: “Excellent cooking, worth a detour”
- Three star: “Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey”
